 Dear Colleagues in the Federal Civil Service,

It is a delight to offer you this training as part of the on-going capacity development programme of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. Our goal is to enhance your knowledge and skills as you progress from one grade level to the other in the service. My expectation is that in the next few years, we will be proud to have a new breed of civil servants who are the best in Africa offering our great country, Nigeria, an efficient and effective service delivery. Surely, human capital development is the key to the attainment of this goal.

The specific objectives of the training programme are to:

• offer comprehensive online training for different categories of civil servants for the purpose of acquiring new skills, knowledge, career progression and strengthening capacity for better service delivery;
• provide civil servants capability for skills mobility both within and outside the civil service and offer opportunity for new jobs as collateral effect;
• achieve cost effectiveness in the delivery and administration of training through technology which allows mass delivery without loss of quality as well as reduction of cost of offshore (overseas) training; and
• provide certification that is nationally accepted for academic and professional mobility of civil servants.
